Mayor Nancy Brunt
I moved to Kamsack in 1997 after my husband Russ retired from Duck Mountain Provincial Park. Our two sons, Keith and Neil, loved their school here, so we decided to make Kamsack our long-term home. I retired as a librarian from the Parkland Regional Library in Kamsack after 14 years. Now, I am non-stipendary priest for Holy Trinity and New Sumner Anglican Parishes. I am also an active member of the Kamsack Players Drama Club and serve on numerous committees. I am concentrating on local projects with my second term as Mayor. My husband enjoys his retirement here in Kamsack playing bridge, making maple syrup and doing all the hunting and fishing he wants. Our sons are happy to call Kamsack their hometown. I believe that being on Town Council allows me to give back to a community which has so warmly welcomed my family.
Town Councillor Claire Bishop
I am currently the Student Services Teacher at KCI. I have taught in the area since 1987. Prior to that, I taught at the College of Notre Dame in Wilcox. I studied at the University of Saskatchewan where I received my B.A., B.Ed. I then went on to obtain my Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Regina.
I am committed to serving my community. I am proud to have been a part of the Town Council that built a firehall, medical and dental clinic, and invested in our parks and leisure facilities through the pool expansion and the development of walking trails. I believe in speaking out and working hard for the public interest. Kamsack is an awesome place to live, raise children, work and retire.
Town Councillor Bryce Erhardt
I was born and raised in Kamsack and, shortly after graduating high school, I moved to various parts of Saskatchewan and Alberta. After working in the construction and oilfield industries for several years, I obtained an Honours Diploma in Business Administration and Management from Saskatoon Business College. Following graduation, I worked as a Property Manager in the City of Saskatoon, where I managed over a dozen condominium corporations and properties, apartment complexes and rental houses. With my fiancé, Jolene Katelnikoff, we had 2 children, Paysen and Camryn, and in 2017 we decided to move to my hometown of Kamsack Saskatchewan. I am currently employed by Sas-Kam Sportsman and also serve as the Vice President of the Kamsack Minor Hockey Association. I will be overseeing the Sports and Recreation Portfolio during my term on Town Council.
Town Councillor Shelley Filipchuk
I graduated from KCI in the 80’s. After graduation, I moved to Brandon Manitoba where I took Business Administration courses at the Assiniboine Community College. Upon returning to Kamsack in 2000, I met my husband and we had a son. I spend most of my time volunteering for various organizations in the community. I look forward to the next 4 years on Town Council.
Town Councillor Darren Kitsch
I have lived in Kamsack for over 10 years and I have been a teacher at the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute for the past 16 years. I have a wife, Tracy, and four children. My oldest is 18 and the youngest is 7. We recently became foster parents as well, and are blessed to be caring for a baby boy. I have also been teaching music lessons for the past 6 years. My two eldest children are also teaching piano lessons to several students. I have also been involved with the swimming pool during previous summers. I look forward to working on Town Council as we continue to improve our community for all its residents.
Town Councillor Jodi Sas
My two siblings and I were raised on a farm south of Norquay by our parents Ted and Jackie Krushkowski, who were born and raised in Kamsack. I attended Norquay school and later moved to Kamsack, where I have been for the past 13 years. My husband, Morgan, helps run a long-time family business in Kamsack. We have 3 children, Jade, Layla and Piper. For the past 13 years, I have been an employee at Affinity Credit Union where I currently serve as a Personal Banker. My interests include woodworking, gardening, home renovations, fitness and recreation activities.
I care about the Town of Kamsack, its residents and the people that visit. I recognize that positive change will be achieved through playing a significant role at the decision-making level. I hope to be a strong advocate for the residents of Kamsack by helping prioritize issues and services that are vital to the successful operations of our community. It is important to ensure our water supply, waste disposal, streets and sidewalks are maintained while still being able to ensure the longevity of our community buildings; like the OCC Hall, Broda Sportsplex and the Crowstand Centre.
I am the type of leader that people may approach with their ideas and feedback. I will speak out about ideas that are brought to me and try my best to provide good information and answers.
